RAF Hamworthy
Would 461 Sqn have been the only flying boat/seaplane Sqn at the above base in Dec 42?

Re: RAF Hamworthy
Hi Chris,
Halley´s Squadrons of the RAF says that only 210 and 461 Sqns operated from this base in WWII. 210 was at Gibraltar till 18/12/1942, at Hamworthy from 21/04/1943. Michal |

Thanks. I wonder if there were any BOAC flying boats in Poole harbour at that time? Chris |

Re: RAF Hamworthy
Chris
You should be able to find one of those local history books around quite easily titled "Wings over Dorset" by Leslie Dawson which may provide more detailed help. As I recall there is a lot of stuff in there about BOAC ops from Poole Harbour. I know it but don't have it Steve Last edited by SteveB; 3rd January 2011 at 13:30. Reason: spelling |
