Hello,
Has anyone any idea as to how many Spitfire UTI's (all marks) were converted ? Secondly is it known were the conversions were carried out, in Persia or in Russia ? Thanks Alex |

Re: Soviet Spitfire UTI's
1) a small number (I don't know exactly)
2) in the Soviet Union the only "conversion" (that I know of) done in Abadan,Iran was painting red stars. |

Re: Soviet Spitfire UTI's
Alex
Geust does not give any quantity in Red Stars 4 but state one of the places conversion took place was 1 ARB in Leningrad, 1945 (ARB = Aircraft Repair depot) At least two are known, but they were probably not the only ones... Cheers Stig |
