Highest Scoring Aces Captured
As a matter of curiosity I'm trying to determine, by Air Force, who were the top aces of each nation/air force that were shot down and captured during the War. So far I have the following:
RAF........Robert Stanford Tuck...POW 28/1/42...31 victories USAAF.....Francis Gabreski.........POW 20/7/44...28 victories USMC......Gregory Boyington......POW 03/1/44...28 victories RNZAF.....Raymond Hesslyn.......POW 3/10/43...18 victories RAAF.......Nicky Barr.................POW 26/6/42...12 victories RA..........Walter Omiccioli.........POW 12/5/43....9 victories If anyone could add to the list eg Luftwaffe, IJNAF, IJAAF, VVS etc I would be grateful.
