Re: Photos 10-21

A correction to the above that, for some reason, does not work when I tried it there.

Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 95 492 "Rote 2", 10./JG ?, Gifhorn, after 11 April 1945. It is thus a Györ built machine.

Ju 88 G-1 W.Nr. 710 179. Looks to me as one of the Hofoldinger Forst machines, seen in Brunnthal ?

Already discussed in Franck's thread:

Re: Photos 10-21

Thanks very much Ed, indeed.

Marc? Rote 2 or Rote 20?

Thanks for the links and comments, both of you.

Regards, Franck.

Re: Photos 10-21

It's interesting to note that plane wears a III. Gruppe Balken, same colour than number, both aren't outlined and no apparent JFV band.
For me, considering the octane triangle tone, it's Braune or Gelbe 20.

Regards, Franck.

Yes and no. This is Ju 88 G-1 version but none of these were at Brunnthal after the war (only one C-6 and several G-6). BTW Number "710179" did no exist, The Ju 88 G-1 Serie machines started at 710401 (except the two prototypes), so this possibly be nearer 711xxx or 712xxx but not easy reading it. That car in front, damage to wingroot flap and fairing, and some camou detail indicate possibly 712373 3C+MR at Juvincourt (another eBay listing sold recently) but this one taken some time earlier.

Regards
-Ed

Re: Photos 10-21

Thanks edNorth for your precisions. Much appreciated.

So Juvincourt starts to be well documented with this latest series of pics. Good... We have also thanks to edwest a wealth of Gifhorn pics showing up. At last some new and important documentation allowing to recognize planes already seen and published elsewhere.

Cheers
Marc

Re: Photos 10-21

Hi Guys,

Found nothing for Gifhorn ... Braunschweig, maybe? Celle too, but starts to be far from there.

Re: Photos 10-21

Marc, Juvincourt is still not confirmed, I asked Merlin for confirmation on this but no answer (so speculative only) -Ed
