4.4/NJG 2 (or NJG 1) Claim for 17 August 1940
Tony Woods OKL Luftwaffe Claims records has the following entry for 17 August 1940:
Fw. Peter Laufs: 6 - 4./NJG 2 Hurricane - (Lowestoft) - 22.45 [21.45 BST] OKL C. 2031/I Nr.55955 It is also included in Mathews and Foreman Luftwaffe Aces, Victory Claims - Vol. 2 p. 725, as: Fw Peter Laufs - 4./NJG 1 Hurricane - Lowestoft - 2300 - Claim No. 6 What is the correct unit for Laufs? I assume that his aircraft would have been a Ju 88C-1. Also, I can't find any corresponding RAF loss record for this time and location. Any thoughts? |
