Looking on Luft. Qm. List between 23rd Aug to 1st Sept. all I could find was 1. 21-8 Ju88A4 I/KG51 w.n. 6691 90% damaged in landing accident at Fl.PL Tasinakja crew safe. 2. 29-8 Ju88A4 10/KG51 w.n 1308 crashed following technical trouble at Fl.Pl. Bobruisk crew of Ofw. Jagusch killed. Both these were shown as being on non-operational 'H' flights.

Brian, did you see my link regarding possible identity of Klischat's a/c on the Ebay photo? on my earlier thread.
If its possible to blow up the area where the W.Nr is positioned, i beleive this is W.Nr 6635 and thus 9K+HK.

Best regs,
Steve.

Dear Brian,

Thank you for this!
However, I tried to check unreliable info that Hpt. Ernst von Bibra c-r III/KG51 lost his plane on this date after Flak damage and make emergency landing in Tazinskaja (Stalingrad area).

Re: KG51 losses on 23 August 1942.

Hi Nikita!

Wolfgang Dierich: "Kampfgeschwader 51 Edelweiss", page 187 --23.8.1942-Ju 88A-4, WNr. 5502- 9K+AA , Major Ernst Frhr. von Bibra , Stab III. KG 51. Notlandung due to Flak near river Tschir. 2 crew WIA. Oblt. Poppenburg landed 9K+AD and picked up Bibra and crew.
I have the NVM Nr.54 -III./K.G.51 from 23.8.-28.8.1942. Here stand:
"Pl.Q.3069, Target-trains near Frolow. Ogefr.Günter Heyse und Ogefr.Walter Repinski WIA. Both from 8./K.G.51 came to Kriegslazarett Stalino."

Dear Rene,

Thank you very much for this.

Who can explain why this loss is not registered in GQ loss returns, judging by what Brian has written above?

TIA

Re: KG51 losses on 23 August 1942.

Nikita and Rene,

Following the reply by Rene I looked on the next reel and the incident is on the report dated 19-9-42 ;- III/KG51 Pl.Qu.3135 Flakbeschuss Ju88A4 w.n. 5502 15% with B. Ogef Gunther Heyse and Bf Ogef. Walter Repinski both wounded.
The KG 51 book (photo page 175 and page199) also has Ltn Winkel picking up the downed crew of Ltn Geruschke just ahead of Russian troops on 21-2-1943,

Regards

Brian Bines

Re: KG51 losses on 23 August 1942.

Hi

There are two losses reported for the units of KG 51 on this date;

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=132031

http://www.ahs.no/ref_db/lw_loss_pub...?lossid=132030

There are also several losses for the units on the surrounding days that have yet not been mentioned in this thread

Regards,
Andreas B

Re: KG51 losses on 23 August 1942.

Hi,

There are some inconsistencies however. I have no proof for Dierichs statement to the emergency landing of Major von Bibra and that Oblt.Poppenburg picked up his crew. But in conversations with Poppenburgs Bordfunker that was me confirmed.
Here the NVM .
