Black Thursday 1944
I just came across a web site article about a large number of US aircraft were lost to weather on just one day in 1944. It was the most losses occurred to the US in SE Asia during the war.
Can any one provide more details about this event and the losses? Any books on the subject that you would recommend? |

Re: Black Thursday 1944
Sure you don't mean 'Black Sunday'? The US 5th Air Force lost 37 a/c on the 16/4/44 over New Guinea due to 'a weather front of severe thunderstorms'.
