Question Max Winkler,German Cross In Gold Holder

Leutnant Max Winkler had scored 21 air-to-air victories while flying with JG-27. Was Winkler in the Bundesluftwaffe after WWII? He was a German Cross In Gold Holder. Postwar career of him please.
