Off-topic: Aviation bookshops in Paris, France
Hi, guys
Got a few hours to kill in the morning before leaving for the airport. Any suggestions for aviation bookshops - new and/or used books? Regards, Andreas B

Try "la maison du livre aviation" bld Hausmann metro saint-augustin(ligne 9) or "la machine volante" rue claude decaen, metro Daumesnil (ligne 8)(many olds books).
And good stay in the "most beautiful city in the world"(exept Roma). Michel |

La Maison du Livre Aviation is at 75 Boulevard Malesherbes, Paris 75008. It's on the left side if you're walking up the hill from the junction with Boulevard Haussmann. Nearest Métro is Gare Saint Lazare.

Is LA MACHINE VOLANTE still in business? While its website was still up last summer, no phone contact and a trip there -- peering through the windows to see empty shelves -- did not look good.

La Machine Volante:
Sadly "Google" says permanently closed. It appears that this veritable Ali Baba's cave of French (and other) aviation books is no more. I was last there in 2012, and the owner was joking about retiring then and asking which Australian bookshops in Sydney and Melbourne were worth visiting. Hopefully, he made the trip before Hylands (a similar cavern of military and aviation books) closed 18 months ago. I'd appreciate a heads-up if anyone knows of similar bookshops worldwide? ...geoff
