Lt Kramer 366th FG down 16 Nov 1944

During Operation "Queen" Lt Kramer went down between Aachen and Cologne. Any info about MACR or circumstances?

Cheers
J.D.

Re: Lt Kramer 366th FG down 16 Nov 1944

No MACR reported for 366th FG on 16 Nov 44...

Was Kramer killed or POW? What was his first name? More precise location available?

Regards,

Leendert

Re: Lt Kramer 366th FG down 16 Nov 1944

The 16 Nov 1944 is a bit dubious. During the Operation Queen the strategic 8th USSAF and the RAF conducted a large scale tactical Operation against German Army east of Aachen towards Düren.

The 9th USAAF was in a supporting role and lost about 10 aircraft iaw different sources. MACR 10513-MACR 10527 and MACR 10568 are known to me, but not the others.

1st Lt Vincent Kramer went down on 16 or 17 Nov. Fate and further info unknown.

Leendart:;

You are going to have to correct your post. It looks like some bad code.

Re: Lt Kramer 366th FG down 16 Nov 1944

Jörg,

Sorry for the mess, it wasn't a code breaking test!

366th FG had the following MACRs in the 17 till 21 Nov 44 period.

17/11/44 42-76150 MACR 10873
42-26139 MACR 10872
42-27194 MACR 10574
18/11/44 42-28892 MACR 10571
44-20084 MACR 10572
44-20090 MACR 10573
19/11/44 44-20069 MACR 10570
21/11/44 42-76200 MACR 10569

If you go to the website "http://perso.orange.fr/p-47.database" you can find some names already of the pilots involved.
If Kramer isn't among them, you can narrow the search down to the MACRs that show no pilot's name...

Grüss,

Leendert

Hello Joerg

The Capt Kramer Vincent D. O-809160 366th FG 391st FS baled out of his P-47 over friendly lines the 16/11/1944 and return to duty .no MACR etablished

It was during mission 282 field order Y 21-3
T/O 13:05
Suffered flak at WF3429 & WF 070399
Target was WF065435 & WF070399

All return ok except Kramer , no reason for the loss
Unfortunately the microfilm is very poor of information for this squadron
