Uffz. Heinz Wodarczyk

Hello friends,

does anyone have more information about:

Heinz Wodarczyk (Wingman of "Pips" Priller)
and about his aircraft (FW190D)....

I know that he died during a crash in Wijhe, The Netherlands (that's also where I live...)

Thanks so far!

Re: Uffz. Heinz Wodarczyk

There is a photo of him in ' The JG 26 War Diary ' vol. 2 page 407 and seven mentions on other pages (ISBN 1-898697-86-8),

Wodarczyk

Hello Rick

The only entries that I find on Wood's lists are:

2. 11 June 1944 15:38 4./JG 26 P-38 Compiègne at 3,000 m
w.b. 11 June 1944 15:48 4./JG 26 P-38 Roye-Compiègne at 3,000 m

Here is a rather poor quality scan of a photograph of this pilot. I hope that this helps.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Uffz. Heinz Wodarczyk

According to Manrho/Pütz, Wodarczyk was KIA in his D-9 210 936 just E of Wijhe: "The cause of his crash is unknown, but one source gives it as 9.53 hrs, which leads to the assumption that he may have been on an early return with AAA damage, too."

Fw 190 D-9 of this batch (210 901 - 210 999) were delivered from Focke Wulf/Cottbus between 12/44 and 01/45.

The Japo-Book about the D-9 lists Wodarczyk's a/c as "unmarked".

Hope his helps,

Heuser

Re: Uffz. Heinz Wodarczyk

I just got a book of my father about:
WIJHE during the 2nd world war.

This book says that Heinz was hit near Zwolle (17 KM North of Wijhe) by GERMAN (!!) FLAK...
but unfortunately there are no pics of this crash in this book....
just a small pic. of Heinz with another person.

If someone knows more or has more pictures....... please answer!

Thanks

Rick Jansen
