P-51C-1-NT (F-6C) 42-103226 from the 67 PRG went missing in action on 12/23/1944
Flying out of the Belgian airfield Gosselies A-87. Who was the pilot and what happened with him ? The MACR was 6275

Also MACR 6275 relates to the loss of 42-103224 on 22 June 1944 - some six months earlier!

For 42-103224 and MACR 6275 then it is the correct date but you were asking about 42-103226. There was no MACR for 42-103226 as this crashed in friendly territory at Eupen-Aachen on 23 December 1944. MACRs at that time were running in about the 11### range.

The pilot of 42-103226 that your enquiry concerned was Charles J Smith. MACR 6275 concerns Malcolm F Cox, 12th PS who bailed out in the Comburg area of France on 22 June 1944. Hope this helps clear things up for you.
