J R Lloyd - 615 Sqn

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has any info or an ORB for 615 Sqn for June 1940.

I have been asked by a computerless member of the "The Old and Bold" for more infomation on (I believe, Plt Off) J R Lloyd who was part of 615 Sqn RAF and lost his life on 22 June 1940.

He is buried (again, I believe in La Mailleraye, Normandy). Any expansion you can give would be gratefully appreciated.

I've had a look at the link below, I just wondered if there was anything else someone might have on Lloyd.

Re: J R Lloyd - 615 Sqn

John Richard Lloyd was born in May 1910 at Dinas House, Brecon.

John Richard Lloyd of 615 RAF Aux Sqn was granted a commission as Acting Pilot Officer on 3rd Dec 1938. He was confirmed in his appointment and graded as Pilot Officers on 7th July 1939.

He was killed on 22 June 1940 flying a Hurricane I ' P2764' on a patrol over France. He engaged some He111s and Me110s near Rouen and was shot down.

He is buried at La Mailleraye-sur-Seine Communal Cemetery, France.
La Mailleraye-sur-Seine is a village on the south bank of the River Seine, 16 miles (25 kilometres) west-north-west of Rouen.
