Me 109, 410 colour scheme in Italy, 1945

First post, hi everybody. Does anyone have any info regarding colour schemes used by the Luftwaffe in Italy 1945, specifically on Me 109s and 410s, and Ar234s?

cheers!

Re: Me 109, 410 colour scheme in Italy, 1945

Brad,

by 1945 there were only a handful of Luftwaffe Bf 109s, only G-8 and G-10/R2 used by NAGr.11. All the other Bf 109s were those flown by the Italians of the ANR.

However, as a general line, by that time there were no more any specific theatre schemes and the aircraft were all finished with their factory schemes and markings, with the only addition of unit markings where it was the case.

So I think you'd better refer to the general camouflage & markings lines for each type as applied in 1945.

For the ANR instead, you may refer to our work "Camouflage & Markings of the A.N.R. 1943-1945", published in 2004 by Classic Publications.

Hope this helps

And for colour profiles of the Me 410 and Ar 234, see "Air War Italy 1944-45" by Beale, D'Amico & Valentini (Airlife, 1996).
