Fleet Air Arm
Hi, Forumites
Not sure if this is the correct Forum (perhaps someone knows of a more relevent one!), but does anyone know of a WW2 period FAA pilot (supposedly flew Spitfires/Seafires) called Edgar George HILL, born July 1922 in Somerset?? Tia Bigweeker |

Re: Fleet Air Arm
HI,
Fleet Air Arm Aircraft 1939-45, by Air Britain Publications: This book contains a mention of Sub/Lt E Hill who flew Vought Corsairs, who was shot down by Flak and killed in Corsair JT308, during Operation Millet, Nicobar Islands 17-10-1944, while serving with 1836 Sqn on HMS Victorious. However it turns out that he was Eric Hill according to CWWG and no Edgar George Hills show as killed. So did he survive and never crash or damage any FAA aircraft so as to be included in the above mentioned book!!
