General Miyazaki of Kohima and Imphal

Aloha All,
Can anyone detail the history of Kohima and Imphal and what effect which a General Miyazaki played in those actions?
Mahalo,

Re: General Miyazaki of Kohima and Imphal

Hi David
Try and get a look at "Burma. The Longest War" by Louis Allen, a paperback version was published in 1998 by Phoenix and might be available over the web if your local Library can't get a copy. Ch 4-The Base is devoted to the Imphal/Kohima battles and there many references in the index to Miyazaki during that period. The Author makes a lot of use of Japanese sources throughout the whole book.
Regards
Dick

Thanks, Dick,
I shall relate this to General Miyazaki's grandson during his visit to my home next month.
Cheers,
David

Re: General Miyazaki of Kohima and Imphal

Thanks, John,
Wonder what General Miyazaki did? or didn't do? That might give us something more to talk about!
Cheers,
David
