Sgt McKenzie N.J. RNZAF from 115 Sqn
Hello,
I'm looking after some information about Sgt McKenzie N.J. RNZAF serial 41596 from the 115 Sqn. He was a member of the Wellington X-3675 which was shot down on the 28 of August 1942 above Belgium. The aircraft crashed at Grand-Hallet, Belgium and he was taken prisoner. 3 other members were KIA (Sgt Sharpe William .J, Sgt Carr Leslie G. and W/O Smith John G.) and 1 could escape (Sgt Cope J.E.). Wellington was shot down by Hptm Bietmann 5./NJG 1. The 3 members who were KIA were buried at the Allied Cemetery of Saint-Trond and transfered to Heverlee after the war. Thanks. Alexander |
