Questions about V.(Z)/LG 1.

Hi all!

My friend ask me some questins, and I realised that I cannot answer because I know very small directly about this Gruppe.

I wil be very appresiate if somebody will clear this to me:

1. Claim list of I.(Z)/LG 1 during Polish campaign. I know that Gruppe was lead by W.Grabmann, who claimed 5, and Gruppe scored totally ~30 victoryes. But I cant find it in Tony Woods lists. Oblt. Werner Methfessel had several to his score, but when, how much and what type? And about others? Any "aces" with 5 kills?

2. Gruppe actions during BoB. Hptm. Horst Liensberger - how many victories he had total? Is it known, how many claims Gruppe had total during BoB? Also, Tony Woods lists dont show even one victory of 14./LG 1 during BoB...

Unfortunatly, I cant buy a book of Ludwig von Eimannsberger "Zerstorergruppe V./(Z)LG 1" Does anybody have it?

Regards, Evgeny.

Re: Questions about V.(Z)/LG 1.

Hi,

the list of Tony Wood is incomplete according this ZG. Several claims from the 14(Z)/LG1 are missing.
During the Polish Campaign they claimed 30 victories (e.g. four by Warrelmann and by Methfessel). Grabmann made no claims during this period.
Horst Liensberger claimed in total three victories till his death.
During BoB they calimed probably 73 victories.

Regards

Robert

I have Eimannsberger's book, but it is stored in the attic. If there is something specific you want looked up, I will get it out for you and look.

Re: Questions about V.(Z)/LG 1.

Hello
I am researching for the war fortunes of the V (Z) /LG 1 crews.Unfortunately, without success so far...
Please let me know about how many pilots(not gunners)within V(Z) LG1. were in fact lost over the 1939-1940 perioud, I presume their survival rate to be very low...
Thank you much
