Q. Pilot Instructor FFS AB 14

I have recently aquired a great document and photo lot for Karl Wacha a flying instructor with FFS AB 14 from 1939-1945. On page 6 of his military logbook he has a typed entry and two stamps for Stuka Schule 2 Graz, dated 27.Aug 1942, there is no indication in his pics of any stukas as they are mostly Arado ar 65's. Would he have possibly trained with or taught in Stukas? Does anybody have any links or information to this School. I ask in ignorance as A. my german is really bad and B. This is my first Luftwaffe lot as I mostly collect SS and GJ. Thaks in advance for any assistance.

What I believe you have is not his logbook but Wacha's Flugzeugfuhrerschein, basically his flying license, issued upon completion of his requirements for the pilots badge. It most likely has a blue cover, Luftwaffe eagle and the words Flugzeugfuhrerschein.

FFS A/B 14 was based in Klagenfurt/Aigen and was a elementary flying school, closed in late 44. THe reference to StukaSchule 2 was most likely a units he received supplemental training with and that particular unit was fitted out with Hs 123, He50 (biplanes) and early model Ju87.

Stuka or Sturzkampfflugzeug literally stands for dive bomber. As such it is a description of category of an aircraft and by no means a nick. For example, US Stuka pilots who have attacked Japanese fleet at Midway never flew Ju 87, nonetheless they were still flying Stukas.
