USAAF officers in UK mid 1941

Does anyone know anything about USAAF officers who arrived to UK in mid 1941 and visited air bases including RAF Northolt? They were Lt. Green, Lt. Miriam and Lt. Wilson, so with such names any search is rather hard if not impossible. I suppose they were promoted after the US joined the war and took some positions.
TIA

Franek,

Not so hard as it seems: they were "official observers". You can find their names and picture here: http://www.acesofww2.com/Canada/aces/kent.htm

Scroll down to end of story.

Regards,

Leendert

Well, there is a series of photos, but does anyone know even their first names? They are not written there, making it impossible to trace the men.

Franek

I know Lt Zemke (later Col 'Hub' Zemke) and Lt Allison were in the UK mid 1941 with regards P40 Tomahawks and were involved testing/handling with the RAF.

They were then sent to Russia as observors and for air testing with Operation Dervish - first convoy to Russia in August 1941. Here they air tested about 40 P40C/Tomahawk IIB's before handing them over to the VVS (mainly Zmmek as Allison went to Moscow).

Of course at this time the US were still neutral.

Never heard of the other ones I am afraid

regards

MS
