Looking for information on Oberfeldwebel Toni Naiss

Hi,

Could anyone provide details over the loss of Oberfeldwebel Toni Naiss.
He was lost on 27th May 1942.
He was a flugzeugfuhrer in a nightfighter squadron.
his sterbebild lists him lost in Afrika.
I have tried to find him in Scherzer's book on Nachtjagdgeschwader but without luck.

Thanks

Rick

Thanks Brian you are very good at this.

Can you hazard a guess why he didn't appear in above mentioned book?

Was it because he was brought down outside of Germany?

There seem to be many gaps in terms of personnel not mentioned.

Rick

There is a mention in "Ferne Nachtjadg" by Moehlenbeck.

" In the afternoon, the airplanes got ready for a raid on Bardia. The Naiss crew did not return. At 0210 we had the last radio contact with him. Oblt Schulz, the 1st Staffel commander, saw at 0227 by Bardia an airplane crashing in flames...Ofw Naiss was one of the new crews. He was probably a victim of flak. "
