On 2.jan. 1945 a report gave the following losses

Speyer A BF109G 85 x Bernzahl uf
Dilligen 10 km W, A BF109G 85 unv, Schneider uf
Katzenbach b, Landshut BA BF109G 40 unv, Holtfretter uf
Homburg 10 km N, A BF109G 90 unv, Polöck ofhr
Homburg 10 km N, A BF109G 90 x Greller uf

Re: Losses

Hi Remi,

Dr. Priens JG53 book shows Uffz Wilhelm Holtfreter 9/JG53 crash-landed on Bodenplatte unwounded. The index shows a Ofw. Heinz Polak III/JG53 last mentioned on 4-4-45.
The Bodenplatte book shows Fw August Bernpohl 8/JG53 wounded on Bodenplatte, there is a Fj.Uffz Grell of JG3 killed on Bodenplatte and both Ltn. Dieter Hartel of 5/JG53 and Uffz Helmut Schneider of 7/JG 53 were reported missing but returned safe,

Regards

Brian Bines

Re: Losses

You are right Brian the names look a bit odds, hertel is Hartel , bernpohl right, Greller is Göller
So quite good things for John Manrho,

Remi
