Re: Photos 5-1-05

Although it certainly isn't a Bf 109 I cannot identify the first aircraft.

This seems to be some trainer, although the wheels would seem to exclude a North-American Harvard type/derivative.

Any of you recognize the type?

I've included a positive as an attachement.

Ruy,

Having "flipped" your image in Photoshop the wappen looks very much like one from JVS 2 or 3 - see page 63 Ketley and Rolfe items 763 and 764.

Is the aircraft a Harvard type (NA 37??) possibly captured from the French?

Re: Photos 5-1-05

Andy,

Your identification of the unit marking seems to be spot on!

NA-57/64 seem to be the most likely candidates, that was my first reaction as well. According to Rosch JFS 3 flew a mix of NA trainers, so that corresponds with the Unit markings and actually narrows it down to that unit (if Rosch is correct).

Thanks all!
