Fi 156 with unknown emblem
I have a picture of a Storch in my collection with this winged lion on the engine. It looks very much the same as the emblem of 4(H)AufklGr21 and 9(H)LG2 except that in my case the lion seems to be white (or yellow???).
The picture shows only the front of the aircraft, so I don't know what markings there are on the fuselage. Can anybody tell me more about the emblem? Last edited by RudiS; 13th February 2009 at 09:23. |

Re: Fi 156 with unknown emblem
If I were a betting man, it certainly looks more like the 4.(H)/Aufkl.Gr.21 emblem... but its goes against the convention of what is described as a "red rampant griffon on a white shield" [source: Luftwaffe Emblems 1939-45 by Ketley & Rolfe, Hikoki, 1998]...
