Arrow Stirling MG-S 7 Squadron

Hello

On may 20th 1942 Stirling W-7520 MG-S from 7 squadrn was lost over Belgium. My question is were there other Stirlings before or after this crash who had the squadroncode MG-S ?

Happy Easter

Re: Stirling MG-S 7 Squadron

7 Sqn flew Stirlings for 3 years from Aug 40 so in answer to your question, I think it is safe to assume there were a number of MG-Ss!

Re: Stirling MG-S 7 Squadron

Alain,

Next Stirling "MG-S" was lost just over a month later when N3706 collided with a Me-110 some 35 kms N of Vlieland on 30 June 1942.
Story here: http://www.noorderbreedte.nl/pdf/95303.pdf

Interestingly, the "MG-S" lost near Brustem, Belgium also had collided with a Me-110...

Regards,

Leendert

Re: Stirling MG-S 7 Squadron

Hi Alain,
After so many requests for help myself it gives me pleasure to be able to provide something on the forum for someone else. That doesn't happen very often!!
I have attached pictures of 7 Squadron Stirlings at Oakington during 1941. Unfortunately none of MG-S though. I hope you enjoy them.
Do you recognise any of the VIP's in the group picture?
best wishes
Gerry
