Post Need help to ID a JG 26 pilot

All,

I am in need of some help and I do not have any specific books on JG 26 so I hope someone might be able to lend a hand.

I am looking for a pilot from JG 26 who had lived in New York in Yorkville (was a strong German area of Manhattan at the time) who interviewed the crew of the 1st B-17 to be shot down on 6 Sept 1942.

I do not have any other information except it may have been the pilot credited with the kill ~ Hptm. Karl-Heinz Meyer - Stab II./JG 26

Thanks
