Re: greek squadrons fight in Afrika

Hello Byron,

does this book cover the Squadrons service in 1944?

Did they lose as aircraft, Baltimore FW335 on August 22 1944.

This ought to be in the Allied forum shouldn't it.

There's an Italian gent looking for the names of the crew of a Baltimore lost on this date in GENIVOLTA, PO river valley.

He would appreciate any help.

Hi,
Marco Gueli's Martin Baltimore in Italian Service will give you most info on there Italian use. Includes a list of known a/c but the one you mention is not in the list.Italian/English text. My copy came from Midland Counties at £16.95 +pp.

Re: greek squadrons fight in Afrika

Thanks Alex,
I'm guessing its a Hellenic aircraft at this stage.

here is the RAF Commands forum:

It would be nice to help these men set up the memorial I think.

Hi Byron.
Thanks for these photo's.
I see the 109 that was discussed at length before re maybe belonging to Rodel features on the 3rd page of the first thunbnail.
Does it say where that photo was taken.
Can you please email me the link as well to stefaan.bouwer@gmail.com as well.
13H shared some Bisleys and Baltimores with 15 SAAF.
Do they give serial no's in the book.
Thanks

Hi Stefaan!
In also noted the presence of "Tripple Chevron 4" why I asked Byron for more info! Interesting how photos continue to surface.
I can not see any finer details from the file Byron kindly provided me access to, why the W.Nr is still unknown. Would be very interesting to know where and when the photo was taken though.

This photo reveals the starboard engine cowling which is void of any unit emblem why I believe we now can be pretty sure it did not carry any unit marking. This is again in line with my theory that this is a Stab/JG 77 aircraft.

Many thanks to Byron for posting these photos and assisting with the file!

Cheers
Goran
