Bf 109 built in Prague

Hello,

according to my sources 30 Bf 109Gs were built in Prague factory ČKD/BMM Karlín during WW2. Does somebody can confirm this information? Does somebody know which variant of Bf 109, in which timeframe and from which production batch they were?

Thanks for help

Michal

Re: Bf 109 built in Prague

The only production series I could think could fit your description was 29 Bf 109G-14/U-4 delivered by a factory abbreviated to "Köb". Being no Bf 109 expert at all, I am in deep water here. Any help from the expert panel out there ??

Re: Bf 109 built in Prague

Hi,

Being no Bf 109 expert too, I think the abbreviation could be a clue. ČKD was / is a big factory in Prague often known as "Kolbenka". The official name was Českomoravská–Kolben–Daněk.

Regards,
Michal

Thanks. It could fit with some probability. Seaplanes, do you know bit more about production batch and/or timeframe where it could be delivered (or produced)?

Once again thanks for help

Re: Bf 109 built in Prague

I may have been a little hasty with my reply. Further checking proves that the "Köb" factory delivered the first 9 Bf 109G-14/U-4 in October 1944 and 20 during November. My statistics end on 30.11.44 and the produtction may have continued in December and then on into 1945. The series of 29 aircraft is most likely much larger and then not the one you are looking for. It would be interesting to know what was the "Köb" factorys full name.
