I am looking for information regarding a dogfight between quite a number of FW 190 and P-47 on 10/21/1944.
- which unit did the P-47 belong to? - who was shot down? (German & Allied losses) Thx for your support! TCO |

JG 2 versus P-47 on 21 October 1944
Hi guys
I do not know for certain if this was in the same air battle that is referred to here but Leutnant Willi Stratmann (29 victories, DK-G) of 4./JG 2 was wounded that day in Fw 190 A-8 (W.Nr. 734 388) during aerial combat with USAAF P-47 fighters and baled out near Dernbach which appears to be in the same area. This information thanks to Heuser. Unfortunately I do not know if there were additional JG 2 losses but I hope this helps out somewhat. Horrido! Leo |
