Unhappy Missing Interest Sites?

Can anyone offer information on the status of these sites:

1) The Luftwaffe Archives Group

2) The Hugo Junkers Homepage

Both seem to have gone missing!

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

I know that at least the Hugo Junkers homepage was located on a free server which which had restrictions on the bandwith that could be used by the visitors. So when the bandwith had been used up, it was suspended to come online again the following month. Have no idea if this still is valid or not.

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

dear reader,
I saw also the homepage hugo junkers went missing, but it was updated rarely and this only happened by "big" occasions.
I found on a timeperiod of 16 months 3 different stuka werknumbers , i have searched their history etc..
I forwarded all the info to them including the pictures of the items to proof that i was not inventing things.
my 3 werknumbers were not stated in their stuka list.I did it to make it more compleet.
the result nothing was added not even a response for your search.
I don't need this side anymore, if thats their mentality they better stay were they are yet.I had much better cooperation and interest from other luftwaffe related cites. How do you want to build up or ameliorate your cite this way???
kind regards,
phil

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

Dear Steve,

Thanks for the call. I hadn't been to my LWAG site recently. I had noticed today a hiatus of about 2 weeks since the last member sign-up, a potential indicator something might be amiss, but failed to investigate further. So, your call was most welcome.

I have alerted the server folks to the problem, so expect LWAG will be back on line within a day or two.

By the way, we are a hair's breath away from welcoming our 1000th member.

Regards,
Richard

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

Dear All,

A bit of an update on LWAG.

My server folks had switched to a new server. They said they sent out a notice that this was about to happen, but I never got it. The site actually functions through a private name server, so I have notified the person in charge of that server of the change so that he can make the proper adjustments. We ran into this once before. At that time, the switch to the "new and improved" server turned into a disaster, so we ended up chasing our tails in and out. Hopefully, this won't be a repeat.

Regards,
Richard

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

Hi Richard,

And what a joy it is to have it back! Thanks for the chat yesterday, and thanks again for all you do to "father" LWAG. It is a boon to the Luftwaffe researcher - those just starting and the seasoned specialist alike. Hats off to Roy at TOCH, Peter at LEMB, and Mikael at PAA for their efforts too. I know I speak for many when I offer this appreciation. Let us never take for granted the few who make all this possible . . .

Best regards,
Steve

Re: Missing Interest Sites?

As for Phil, picking up where I left off in the last message, don’t take any of this for granted. So please go easy on the rush to judgment, worse criticism. No Luftwaffe site (i.e., webmaster) is at an individual’s beckon call or obligated to provide instant replies, insertions, etc. The Hugo Junkers Homepage site is/was a wealth of information. It undoubtedly contained information obtained (and credited) from many sources. Were I to guess, I’d say that its webmaster (clearly dedicated to the subject) welcomed your information on Ju 87 W.Nr., and, circumstances permitting, the results of your research may have been included. It wasn’t a personal rejection. Let’s all hope the site returns. In the mean time, why not share your findings here . . .
