Lt. Pitts, 56.FG, lost 28.09.1944

Gentlemen,
is there anything available about the loss of Lt. Walter Pitts , 56.FG, on 28.09.1944? I found this loss mentioned in various sources (as Miller, McLaren), but I can't find anything like a MACR or a KU-report regarding this loss...

Any idea?

Heuser

Re: Lt. Pitts, 56.FG, lost 28.09.1944

Hi Mike,
thank you very much! I found an entry in Millers "Fighter units & Pilots of the 8.AF", listed as KIA. But without the usual Serial Number...

The circumstances of his loss are mentioned in McLarens 56.FG unit history, but again, nothing about a Serial or a MACR number.

Further there's no P-47 loss mentioned in the KU-list for 28.09.1944

Maybe one of these MACR from 15xxx?

Regards

Heuser
