The War Lover, with Steve McQueen
The War Lover has been released for R2 DVD and I am wondering if it is worth a purchase, not really remembering much apart from the ending (when McQueen flies into the white cliffs of Southern England).
The reviews on Amazon.com are positive, but I would appreciate a second opinion closer to home ![]()

Re: The War Lover, with Steve McQueen
I think that it is an excellent movie. Admittedly there are more talking scenes than flying, but what flying there is, is superb.
I would recommend buying the movie just for the scene where MCQueen beats up the airfield alone. One returning from a mission he screams down low across the field, and has to break high to avoid the Control Tower. And I do mean low. the B-17 can't be more than 20-30 feet off the ground. Awesome. ![]() |
