Question I/(J) LG 2 pilots inquiry.

Hi,
Who knows where I could find a list of names for the pilots from I/ (Jagd)LG 2 in may 1940? I've found the name of the Gruppekommandeur but no names for 1, 2 and 3 staffel's pilots.
Thanks,

Re: I/(J) LG 2 pilots inquiry.

Luftwaffe in Focus #3 or 4 has a letter from Prien with lists for 2 of the squadrons, including aircraft.

Hallo Parabellum,

Jochen PRIEN's exellent written book 'Geschichte des Jagdgeschwader 77 - Teil 1' gives a good account of the action during may/june 1940, gruppenkommandeur, staffelkapitäne at the start of the Blitzkrieg in the west. In 'Teil 4' you will find a list with the victories, losses and Kommandeure en Kapitäne. Greetz,

Dirk from a rainy Belgium

Thanks Robert!
It's of interest, although the "flugzeugführer" 's names are not entirely readable for me, on the list.
Regarding the 1st staffel, I'm wondering if there is any chance to find such an aircraft list? May be with help of Dr.Prien?
Regards,

Thanks a lot Dirk!
Unfortunately, I'm not owner of JG 77 "teil 1"... but I do have "teil 4".
I'll look more attentively at it!

Re: I/(J) LG 2 pilots inquiry.

Search on the web under ''Aces of the Luftwaffe - Friedrich Geisshardt'' and the do the same for Erwin Straznicky I think they served in the I/(J)LG 2. Sorry if this proves to be no use to you,

Regards

Brian Bines

Sorry, I thought those lists were in a later issue of Lw in Focus. Stratznicky is in that list. Geisshardt was in 1.St. I have him in 'white 10' WNr. 0958 in the May-July 1940 time frame.
