ELINT version of Boeing 727

I was in Los Angeles Wednesday, having lunch at a restaurant near LAX (which featured a number of WWII aircraft, including apparently a ME-109G-10) and saw a 727 landing. As it approached I noticed it had a pointed noise and bumps along the fuselage, similar to the RC-135 Rivet Joint operated by the USAF. It was painted white and unmarked except for the tail number, which unfortunately I was unable to read.

Has anyone ever heard of such an aircraft. Perhaps being used by Border Patrol or DEA?

Might you have seen the Raytheon Corporation 727 N289MT test aircraft?

Do a google images search
This is a sample photo:

Google the aircraft.
