![]() On 24/10/1940 a Fiat BR20 M from 13 Stormo 5 Squadriglia- 43 Gruppo serialnumber MM21928 crashed near Florenville Belgium.Cpt Pagani Carlo pilot (KIA) ,Tenente Vardabasso Arrigo (KIA) ,Maj Favia Giovanni co-pilot (KIA) ,Sgt Del Monte Aldo engineer (KIA) ,Sgt Astesati Paride gunner (KIA) and Sgt Biziochi Paolo engineer ( KIA ).
Where was this crew buried ? |

According to the 13° Stormo history written by F. Romanelli, they were buried in the Evere cemetery.
Please note that - Giovanni Favia was not a Maggiore (Maj) but a "Maresciallo": - Del Monte and Astesati were Sergente Maggiore (plural: Sergenti Maggiori); - Biziocchi was a marconista (wireless operator) and not an engineer. Italian bombers flew with three pilots in Belgium, one of them acting as navigator. |
