Alexander !
Unfortunately, no records of 365th FG including other sources trace to this particular a/c. The very good source of AFHRA, microfilm # A5688 doesnt show a P-47, AAF-s/n 42-76518 as a loss in September 1944. A loss of this a/c doesn't appear in any MARC collection. The office of the 365th operation Officer reports a "negative report for operations" ... Reference: OpRep A # 161 for 24 hrs, ending sunset 7 September 1944..." There is no accident report of this a/c in September 1944 or available. Alexander ! Can you verify your sources, concerning this a/c as a 365th FG ship and a verification of the date ? This is a tough case !?!? All the best ! Horst Weber |
