Armbandkompass
A friend has just obtained an Armbandkompass that has the following inscribed on the back:
Baumuster AK39 Werknummer 11716 Anfordert (requisition?) F123 235 Hersteller..JLR Can anyone shed any more light, especially on the name Hersteller?

Hi! It is not F123 235, but FL 23 235. This is the Luftwaffe supply number for this unit. Each unit, made for the Luftwaffe, has a FL number - even the ordinary 200 L fuel barrels.
As for the Hersteller /manufacturer/, unfortunately the jlr code is still not identified, as far as I know. This is strange, because I thought there must be some German governmental lists, containing the information which code belongs to which factory. Maybe these were lost in the war?
