First Rhubarb of the RAF

Hi,

According to Foreman´s Fighter Command War Diaries, the first Rhubarb in history of the RAF was flown by 92 Squadron sometime in December 1940. I thought it was Bader´s No.242 Sqn what carried out it (with bloody results) on 12/1/1941.
Can anybody help me with the date for the 92 Sqn ?

Thanks in advance,
Michal

Re: First Rhubarb of the RAF

Hi Chris and Fairlop,

I think that the very first Rhubarb operation was flown on the 20th of december 1940 by No 66 Squadron, P/O Bodie and Flt/Lt George Christie
against Le Touquet airfield, but at the time such operations were not yet called 'rhubarb' but 'mosquito'.
I am now trying to compile all rhubarb opeartions flown by Fighter Command squadrons. So any help will be welcome.

Bernard.

Re: First Rhubarb of the RAF

Where they not oringally called "Mosquitos" only to be changed to Rhubarb with the advent of the de Hav Mossie becoming operational?
