Luftwaffe losses 1940
Hi guys
Unfortunately I received no responses to my earlier requests regarding the loss of Oblt Seidel and Ltn Kupfer and their crews in July 1940 (still time, though!) but hopefully the following will be resolved. 13 July 1940: Ltn Lange of 9/JG51 shot down and killed. What was his first name? 1 August 1940: Was a Hs126 of 4(H)31 really the victim of RAF fighters off Hastings? If so, what was it doing in that location? Who was the crew? 11 August 1940: What were the full identities of the crew of Ju88 B3+BC of StabII/KG54 shot down on this date? Cheers Brian |

Re: Luftwaffe losses 1940
...and in respect to your last question, a Hs126 was lost and one was claimed. It was on an operational sortie and I do not have the crew names. I am afraid that I do not have the exact reason for its sortie

Re: Luftwaffe losses 1940
Many thanks for your responses Melvin, Tom and Chris - much appreciated.
Melvin - it was actually Welte's aircraft (I obviously had the incorrect marking), so do you have full names of him and his crew, please? Also, did you receive my PM re your offer of F/f incidents? Cheers Brian |

Re: Luftwaffe losses 1940
Unfortunately the Avions article does not have the 126's crew names ''helas! pas les noms ''. It does note the loss Of Sub Lt Kestin in the incident quoting 10 miles south of Hastings. The Luft Qm's list shows the loss of the 126 with no crew names so I assume they would be NCO's.
