Attrition
Gentlemen: As most are aware, I have an interest in anything relating to bf110 Op's in 1939/40. In Eimansberger's Chronicle on V(Z)/LG1 he notes that on 27.9.40, this unit was only able to provide a total of "11 machines" from the entire gruppe, for the mission detailed. The terrible losses suffered on this mission are well known. My Question is, Were all the Zerstorer gruppen in a similiar situation regarding A/C availability, as that of V(Z)/LG1 in at this stage of the Battle of Britian? Any comments appreciated. Thanks.
