Needing information/photos of crash of 2 Bf109Es in the Netherlands on May 11, 1940.

Hello,

I'm seeking information, and particularly crash photos of two Bf109Es that came down in the Netherlands on May 11, 1940.

1) 2./JG20 Bf109E-4 Shot down by AA fire over the Waal area and crashed at Amerongern north of Tiel. Oblt. von Minnigerode (StaKap) POW. Did he bail out or ride the plane down to a forced landing?

2) 5./JG26 Bf109E Shot down by AA South of the Ijsselmeer and crashed near De Klomp. Oblt. Fr von Holtey (StaKap) POW - WIA. Plane is recorded as being "Black 14." Again, did he bail out or did he FL the plane?

Please don't refer me to entries in Peter Cornwell's book on the WC or Dr. Prien's books. I already have their info.

Regards,

Larry,

On the crash of Oblt von Minnigerode:
"was taken unhurt from the wreck by Dutch troops , who subsequently handed him over to the English , after which he spent the rest of the war in captivity in Canada".

On the crash of Oblt von Holtey:
I know there is a picture showing the black 14, but I haven't seen it. But this suggest the a/c came down in fairly good order, and that the pilot did not bail out and the a/c crashed into the ground. De Klomp was at the moment of the loss already in German hands.

Regards, Pieter

Hello,

So, has anybody seen this crashed "Black 14" of Oblt. von Holtey? Anybody know where I can obtain a print or scan of this one?

Regards,

Larry
