Bf109 on eBay: What unit?

Balken is supposed to be before the number, not between the number and the cross... Or after the cross for other unit.

Hello Franck,

do You know Hein Birkholz ?
He´s the great old man behind german Aviationhistory-magazines (he created Modellmagazin, Flugzeug and then Jet & Prop), and he used to say; There´s nothing in the Luftwaffe that´s impossible.

The Michael Meyer/ Paul Stipdonk book "Das Jagdgeschwader 51" has, at a quick glance, at least 4 planes with this markings: weiße 11 - + on page 121, weiße 5 - + und weiße 1 - + on page 122, weiße 6 - + on page 123 all from 4./JG 51.
But then we see - 7 + on page 129 so they seemed to use both variants from time to time.

Hi Franck,

II/JG51 painted the horizontal bar between the number and the cross during 1941.
After the winter 1941-42 they painted the bar before the number.
According to that, the first photo (http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-ME109-Me...item1e6f3e2342) depicts F's during 1941, probably in Russia, and the second (
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-ME109-Me...item1e6f3e3a29) is a G-6/Trop in 1943, in the Mediterranean.

I expected one answer like your; describing this kind of marking during one period.
For the G-6/Trop no confusion at all; it looks like all JG 51 G-6/Trop during 1943 in Med areas.
For the first one I thought without doubts that we had Bf 109 F, whatever the unit.
