F/O 90381 MERRET 614 Squadron

Could anyone help me out with details leading to the death of F/O 90381 N S MERRET of 614 Squadron on the 10th Aug 1940?
Following his death MERRETS father insigated a collection in his home town Michaelston-le-pit, Glamorgan to raise funds to purchase a Spitfire. The £5000 raised did eventyally fund a Spit bearing his sons name "Norman Merret" in which P/O Hill of 609 Squadron was killed on the 18th June 1941.
Any info greatly recieved. Cheers Del.
