BOB Claim Query 02.09.1940
Erich Kuhlmann's (3/JG53) last combat claim was a Hurricane on 02.09.1940. He flew three sorties that day. His log records flying from Neuville with 17 other aircraft, departing at 17:15 on his last mission. Is there a record of the Hurricane that he downed? Is there a record of the pilot that shot Kuhlmann down over the Channel?

Kuhlmann was apparently credited with a Spitfire at 0920 hrs. I cannot be certain but this could match with Raid 49 so could match with Hurricanes lost by 249 & 253 Sqns. I have not been able to look at other German claims that day. My logbook from 1/JG 53 notes that they took off at 0817 hrs landing 0937 hrs
