Nightfighter Claim 28-29 Jul 44
Has anyone (with access to Theo Boiten's book?) got any ideas who shot down Lancaster JB701/G of 49 Sqn which crashed between St Martin sur Oreuse and La Chapelle sur Oreuse on the above night?

Hptm Heinz-Horst HISSBACH of 5./NJG2 claimed a 4 - mot. over squares "DF - DG", at 5,000m, at 00:46. This information from Tony Wood's Luftwaffe Loss listing.
Cross referencing the DF / DG co-ordinates with the Nacht Jagd map of NW Europe, this ties - in with the area to the SE of Paris and NNW of Auxerre. This coverage includes the town of Sens. St Martin S/Oreuse is situated approximately 10 miles north of that town Hope this helps. ttfn Andy WILSON (BigWeeker)
