Hurricane serial numbers

Hi guys

I am seeking the serial numbers of Hurricanes lost by 253 Squadron on the following dates:

Lost 29/8/41 (Harris)
Lost 11/12/41 (Hicks) possibly Z3239
Lost 26/2/42 (Watson)
Lost 19/4/42 (Christine)
Lost 14/8/42 (McCarthy)
Lost 26/2/43 (Dawson)

Any help appreciated

Hello Brian,

You may like to check the following serials out.

29-8-41 - Harris
Z5042 - Spun in 1/2 mile West of Skeabrea.
11-12-41 - Hicks
Z3239 - Spun in at night at Manton 2 & 1/2 miles West of Hibaldstow, cause unknown.
and also
Z3670 - Crashed in sea after pilot lost helmet, 8 miles East of Spurn Head.
(date given as 12-12-41).
19-4-42 - Christine
Z3831 - Hit wires during a dummy attack on army column, stalled and spun in 5 miles South of Louth, Lincs. DBF.
14-8-42 - McCarthy
Z3261 - Spun in Tetney 5 miles South East of Grimsby, Lincs.
26-2-43 - Dawson
HV904 - Abandoned off Philippeville.


26-2-42 - Watson
The closest that I could find was
25-2-42
BN284
Engine cut; flew into ground at night, Yewfield Farm, Holton-le-Moor, Lincs.

Refs the AB Serial Series.
