Question III./JG 52 claims

Hello,
The III./JG 52 is supposed to be the most successful Luftwaffe fighter-Group of World War II. What is the exact number of its claims ?
Thank you !

Re: III./JG 52 claims

An early draft history we have for JG 52 states that III./JG 52 claimed 4,050 victories. Probably the most accurate count could be obtained by scouring the Tony Woods claims compilation at the web-site:

Re: III./JG 52 claims

I think that most complete figure will come out from Prien and Barbas books when completed.
In the meantime source for 1945 victories can be found here as compiled by Martin Sila: http://www.luftwaffe.cz/1945.html

Re: III./JG 52 claims

Have to agree with Jan here. While Tony's stuff is the best stuff available to the public via the net, there are numerous holes filled in by the Prien group's Jagdwaffe series (only to the end of 42 so far!) and Barbas. Speaking of the later, has anyone heard anything on the next volume of the Barbas series???
