Hi RT
What proof does the picture show that the Germans built up any Battles!!! The Battle wrecks (with a few Blenheims & Hurricanes) were not collected by the Germans but by an RAF Maintenance Unit. All of the wrecks were collected to be shipped back to the UK for possible repair & rebuild. They were all marked with the Type/date and damage status but these were from RAF stencils. All what you see is how the Germans found the wrecks. Regards Tom Willis

They did!! Many wrecks (mainly French) were used as decoys on dummy airfields and painted with German markings but surely RAF Intellingence would not have been fooled. But maybe the odd strafing RAF pilot. Regards Tom Willis
