crash landing in Naxos, 1943

Found some info on a ju52 that made an emergency landing in Naxos island (1943) in the year 1943. Close to the village Koronos. The story goes that the villagers dismantled the aeroplane before the Germans could come to retrieve it. In this site, close to the end of the page: http://koronosnews.blogspot.com/under the date 21-5-2009 there is a short article with the above info and two photos of some fuselage skins still in use as doors in the village. Well, now you know what to do next time you pass through Naxos next summer!Would it be possible to connect these admittedly very scarce informations with any particular aircraft? Is the photograph of the ju 52 (_ _+GL) visible in the site in any way connected with the plane in question?Thank you very much

Since the link is not working, i`ll show attached the two pics.

I don`t think the plane on the photo is connected with the otherone that crashlanded on the island (maybe 3./T.G. 4), becouse of the two servicemen in the front of it.

Hello Byron/pelagonia

I maybe wrong, but I humbly suggest that the first photo is of a scale model and not a real aircraft.

ChrisS and Larry,

You are probably right, the plane seems spotlessly clean. But one has to admit, the whole scene is rather well done.

Out of that, i don`t have any info about a Ju 52 crushlanded 1943 in Naxos.
Anyone else?

Red face Re: crash landing in Naxos, 1943

It looks like a model indeed! As a partial excuse, may I say that in the original site the image was much smaller?
