Hurricane L1668

Yeaterday I attended the dedication of a new memorial to the crew of a b24 that crashed shortly after take off from Cheddington airfield on november 15 1944 and whilst there a fried was asking if I knew anything about a Hurricane L1668 that crashed in the Rickmansworth area on the 26 april 1940,I did not,so on returning home I started to search but all I have found is that it crashed on the Harefield estate near Rickmansworth.
I was wondering if any forum members had any more info or could point me in the right direction to start searching?
Thanks, Nigel

Re: Hurricane L1668

I now know that the hurricane was flown by sergeant JA Anderson who lost control and baled out injured and went on to fight in the battle of Britain

Re: Hurricane L1668

You would be lucky getting anything from the Station Press Officer; hopefully he or she will pass it to the Air Historical Branch which is now based at Northolt

Re: Hurricane L1668

I did not realise they were based there,I simply looked on the RAF Northolt website for a contact number so if I have not heard anything in a few days I will try again
thanks Nigel
